Pedregal is the original gated community in Cabo San Lucas — the neighborhood locals call the "Beverly Hills of Cabo." Unlike beachfront Medano-strip rentals or all-inclusive resort rooms, Pedregal offers privacy, security, cobblestone streets, and its own private desalination plant for water quality. You get a 5-to-7 minute walk to downtown restaurants and nightlife, with the Cabo San Lucas Marina 10-to-12 minutes downhill on foot — but you sleep in a quiet residential community, not above the party.
Most of Cabo San Lucas — including many upscale condos and vacation rentals — relies on water trucks and rooftop cisterns. When the municipal supply cuts out during high season, deliveries get slow and cisterns run low. Pedregal is different. The community operates its own private desalination plant, producing potable water on-site from Sea of Cortez seawater. For guests, that means reliable, clean, drinkable water from every tap — brush your teeth, fill your coffee pot, take a real shower, no anxiety. For owners, it means one of the biggest ownership headaches in Cabo — water — is solved at the community level. It's a quiet luxury you only notice when it isn't there.
Five to seven minutes walking to downtown. The Pedregal Towers building sits at the marina-facing edge of Pedregal, closer to downtown than most of the community's homes. You can walk to Cabo Wabo, El Squid Roe, Mango Deck, and the Puerto Paraiso mall, with the Cabo San Lucas Marina and its sportfishing charters about 10 to 12 minutes on foot down the hill. Medano Beach is roughly 25 minutes walking, or a short Uber ride away. Most guests skip the rental car entirely and rely on Uber.
Downtown Cabo San Lucas and the nightlife strip are a 5-to-7 minute walk from Pedregal Towers. The Cabo San Lucas Marina is 10-to-12 minutes on foot down the hill — some guests get there faster, some slower, it's downhill either way. Medano Beach is about 25 minutes walking, or a short Uber ride if you'd rather skip the heat. Uber is reliable, cheap, and the way most guests and residents move around Cabo without renting a car. Inside Pedregal, the hand-laid cobblestone roads are quiet, secure, and lined with some of the most impressive custom home architecture in Baja — a great walk with almost no traffic. Hike up the cobblestones to the top of the ridge for a 20-to-30 minute steep climb that rewards you with the best views in Baja. Walk the other way and you can reach the Pedregal private beach in about 45 minutes on foot, though most guests just drive — it's 5-to-10 minutes by car. On the community side you have pickleball courts, tennis courts, basketball courts, the Mountain Club spa, and gated beach access. Once you're inside Pedregal, it's a whole other world from the Cabo city scene.
Both Pedregal Towers rentals include full access to the building's two pools, gym, rooftop sun deck, and Pedregal community amenities — private beach, tennis, pickleball, and 24-hour security. High-speed WiFi, fully equipped kitchen, coffee, laundry, and premium linens are standard. Baja is bigger than Cabo. Cabo Pulmo is a two-hour drive north for the best snorkeling on the peninsula. Balandra Beach in La Paz is worth the day. Whale watching happens off the Arch from January through March. Mulegé and Los Barriles are for guests who want to see the East Cape.
